Baby Steps

In a marathon, it's important to remember that you can't get to the finish line without taking steps.  One at a time and eventually, if you keep doing what you need to do, you'll reach that finish line. I know that this is what my life is now about.  I officially started getting myself healthier on the 3rd January.  I'm now 15 days in. Results so far:  7kg lost. That's 15.5lb gone.  I do realise that weightloss is pretty easy at the beginning and then slows down. I've exercised in some way or another at least 3 days a week, whether that was walking or swimming.  And I'm motivated. As of today, I've hit the goal for my both the DietBet "Fatgirlfedup's Year of Transformation Kickoff" and month one of the "2019 Lasting reSOLUTIONs."  I will NOT lose money! I saw a meme the other day which really made me realise something. It said  Make 2019 your year. 0.5lb per week = 1st 12lb lost in the year 1lb pe...

Home sweet home

Today we left John & Amanda to come home after a fab few days away.  I started the day with two crumpets with butter, jam and cheese. A total of 407 calories. Wasn’t ideal, but no harm done. Lunch was scrambled eggs with asparagus, onion and a banana to finish, 371 calories. Dinner was home made chicken curry and rice, 338 calories.  Day total, 1116 calories eaten (1200) allowed for my size and health level according to MFP. Got around to taking the all round photos in the hope that it will help motivate me too. They are not pretty, but they are real. I also walked 5.5km. It was harder than I remembered it being. My shins hurt and my legs are aching. I can’t believe how unfit I am! 25mile goal for the month... 5.5km = 3.41 miles. 21.59 miles to go. All in all, a good day. Baby steps right?

1st January. A day of new beginnings. New year resolutions, destined to fail and every reason not to start a new journey. But to hell with all the reasons I shouldn’t start this and on to the reasons I should. Being terrified to get on the scales for the last 3 months, I faced them yesterday. I’m the largest I’ve ever been. This blog is about being accountable. I stood on those scales and saw over 100kg  for the first time ever. But not just 100kg, I saw 105! 105kg, that’s 16st 7lb or 231lb. Doesn’t matter how I write that, it’s awful and I never want to see it again. So, decision made, this is the year I will start betting on myself. If I won’t, who will? So I’ve joined two dietbets.  The idea that if i meet my target, I share the winners pot.  It’s not “first past the post” it’s about hitting your personal goals. If you hit your target, you win. Simple!     http://dbet.me/sHOky4  this one is a 6 month challenge to lose 10% of my body weight by ...
