I WON!!!

My first DietBet completed on the 3rd February 2019.


I also won the first stage of my 6 month DietBet which ends in June. 

So I'm delighted.

I love a financial incentive.  I do not like losing!

I signed up to a cheaper one for February since I will be away for 2 weeks of it and I know I'll find it hard not to have a large gain, but that said, I'm still pretty determined, so we will see!

Holidays don't have to spell disaster!

Before I went away, I joined a cheaper DietBet.  I didn't want to join an expensive one as I was worried that going on holiday, I wouldn't meet my goal but at the same time, I still wanted to challenge myself. I returned last night from a two week holiday in Thailand. When I go away usually, the minimum I've ever gained is 14lb.  Often much more.  I tend to be a bit of a pig on holiday.  I eat all the pizza I want, icecreams and soft drinks every day and no regard at all for my weight. This time was different.  I went away determined to stick to my diet.  In Thailand, while all the portions are small in size, everything, and I mean everything, is fried!  I did my best by choosing the best options available.  I didn't eat that many snacks and only had 3 sorbets the entire holiday. 1st January. A day of new beginnings. New year resolutions, destined to fail and every reason not to start a new journey. But to hell with all the reasons I shouldn’t start this and on to the reasons I should. Being terrified to get on the scales for the last 3 months, I faced them yesterday. I’m the largest I’ve ever been. This blog is about being accountable. I stood on those scales and saw over 100kg  for the first time ever. But not just 100kg, I saw 105! 105kg, that’s 16st 7lb or 231lb. Doesn’t matter how I write that, it’s awful and I never want to see it again. So, decision made, this is the year I will start betting on myself. If I won’t, who will? So I’ve joined two dietbets.  The idea that if i meet my target, I share the winners pot.  It’s not “first past the post” it’s about hitting your personal goals. If you hit your target, you win.
